How Do I Stay Up-To-Date With New Security Patches And Updates?

One of the best ways to stay up to date with updates or security patches is to update your server often and schedule to do so. Monthly updates are completely acceptable. However, it's better to run updates weekly or twice a week. This will ensure that your server is always as up-to-date as possible. WordPress, cPanel, and WHM will often tell you if a critical or new update is available.

If you aren't sure how to update your current system, you should check out our How to Update Your Server guide that will walk you through this process.

Here are some useful resources to check for updates that can be made to improve the security of your server.

If you are not tech-savvy or would like assistance, our Technical Support team is here 24/7 and available to help.

Windows

With the Windows Operating System, you will usually be notified of new updates upon logging in through RDP. If Windows deems the update crucial to your server's security, they will make a popup that blocks the entire screen to view the updates. As Windows updates can take a while to complete, it is recommended to do this during non-business hours or on planned maintenance as they also require a reboot to apply.
